After my classical studies, many experiences in contemporary music and contemporary jazz, Benoit Cancoin combine his pleasure in improvisation and new sounds in a research who lead him to the "sounds material", "soundy sensorial rubbings"...
In parallel at the music works, he develop his explorations with others artistics languages, dance, words, paintings...
The artitic posture he wants to stand is improvisation. Based on exploration, meeting, taking into account environment, this posture is the one who allow him to go on his artistic adventure, to bild his action world in reaction of the world who grow around us.
"I've play (and still play from time to time) with passion classical music, jazz, contemporary music. Then the world of sounds "noïse world" come to me, a world of emotion, beauty, hardness, hope, world who still surprise me after a lot of years now... and to cover it the vehicle I prefer is improvisation (but not only), and with my traveling companions of the Collectif Ishtar and all the other musician, dancer, painter, whe continue our treaps and hope to bring you with us in them, never innocents..."
